Aquamarine, part of the beryl species that includes emerald, morganite, and heliodor, is a 7.5/8 on the Mohs hardness scale, and it's hardness and relative availability makes it a popular choice for jewelry. This stone has a lovely blue coloring and plenty of liveliness, so it should work well in a jewelry setting as it is sparkly and bright in a variety of lighting. Standard heat treatment only. (H)
