Item Description
This sparkling aquamarine comes from a less common country of origin for fine clean gems of aquamarine, Kenya. The Taita region doesn't often produce fine aqua crystals, but it does produce small volumes of cutting rough, like the material used to cut this 1.48 carat oval gem. Aquamarine comes from the same species as some of the world's most beloved gemstones; morganite, emerald, heliodor, and others! Its relative hardness (7.5-8 on the Mohs scale) also makes it a very durable gem for jewelry use. No treatment.
