Bicolor Sapphire

Bicolor (or sometimes called “parti”) sapphires contain two colors as a result of natural color zoning. The two colors are usually obvious and stable across different lighting conditions. They range from dramatic zoning of two very different colors to very slight color zoning with two very similar, but still different, colors in one stone. But any fine bicolor sapphire is a highly desirable collectible. This 3.65 ct emerald-cut sapphire gem perhaps should be called a “multicolor” as it shows an extremely attractive mesh of green, teal, and navy blue colors that make it a standout. A nice size gem with a classy look that would be perfect as a center stone in a ring or pendant (solitaire or with accent gems). Assumed to have standard heat treatment only, and likely from Sri Lanka, though a specific locale is unknown and it's possible this is an Australian stone.
