Item Description
The play of color in this fire agate is captivating, with a wide range of oranges, greens, yellows, and reds. Fire agate is formed when thin layers of iron oxide minerals are coated by chalcedony (a type of quartz), and the resulting hypnotic color phenomena is called adularescence, or the Schiller effect. This natural, free-form piece would make a lovely pendant or ring, or simply keep it as is to enjoy a beautiful collector piece. No treatments. High quality Fire Agates can be as impressive in their play of color as fine Black Opal, but Fire Agate is significantly more durable than Opal. Fire Agate is suitable for any kind of jewelry, including rings.
