Item Description
The last few decades, Hermosillo has been a significant source of "rainbow garnet," a type of iridescent andradite caused by crystal interference near the surface of the crystal formation. This particular piece is from Hermosillo, Mexico, and other notable localities for iridescent garnets include Japan, Nevada, and more. Rainbows reflect on this piece, gently polished to show the garnet's crystallography while also enhancing the internal iridescence on this colorful piece. Natural stone; no treatment.
