Item Description
In the early 2000s, new deposits of opals were found in Ethiopia, and these new hydrophane opals became popular for the flash of color and affordable price points, especially compared to opals from Australia! The body color for this piece is a warm yellow-orange, with rainbow color flashes. The majority of these stones are cabochons, such as this one, polished to take advantage of the shape of the rough and enhance the flashes of color in the material. No treatment. Gorgeous material comparable to many Aussie opals!
