Item Description
This cheerfully-colored sapphire is one of the more unusual hues for corundum. The 2.5+ carat, pear-shaped stone is a bit cloudy, due to minute needles of rutile, often referred to as "silk" when found in sapphires. The presence of this silk (watch the video... see if you can find it!) indicates the stone has not been treated, as heat treating sapphires would likely remove the silk seen here. The coloring is nearly Padparadscha, one of the most desirable sapphire hues right now (and certainly a trendy one!)
