The gem form of the mineral forsterite (olivine) is one the traditional birthstones for August. It is most often found in volcanic rocks and certain types of formations in the United States, Myanmar (Burma), China, and Pakistan. This eye clean, 3.51 carat peridot gemstone has a precision cushion cut that complements its wonderfully bright (open) green color.
