Item Description

An American classic and the traditional birthstone for September! Montana is the only state in the United States with any significant production of gem-quality sapphires and they have been actively mined there for over 100 years. Most Montana sapphires are a pale green to blue-green when they are mined, and this specimen (like many other sapphires) has been heated to improve color. This produced an extremely bright and slightly silvery-blue 1.18 carat cushion-cut sapphire. It is a standout gem that is calibrated for a unique “Mined in the USA” jewelry creation, as well as a great specimen for any serious gem collection. (H)
