Item Description
This cheerful, sunny yellow sapphire comes from famous gem deposits in Sri Lanka, a country best known for its corundum and spinel gem material. The general public is most familiar with blue sapphires, but sapphires and rubies are all in the corundum family; and most red corundums are rubies, and other colors are sapphires. Coloring can range from pinks to purples to greens and yellows! At 3.25 carats, this is an untreated oval-cut sapphire, bright and eye-clean. Sapphire's hardness (9 on Mohs) and lack of cleavage make them popular for jewelry. No treatment.
