Sphene, also known as titanite in the mineral world, is mostly found in greens, yellows, and browns, and the most prized gemstone hues for the material range from lemon yellow to lime green. The high dispersion of sphene creates brilliant fire, and it scintillates with changing light. Sphene also has birefringence, which can make the faceting look fuzzy from the doubling-effect.
